Key Responsibilities
• Oversee the company’s compliance program in Brazil, ensuring adherence to local gambling regulations, consumer protection laws, data privacy laws, and anti-money laundering (AML) standards.
• Monitor the regulatory landscape and update internal policies and procedures to reflect changes in local, state, and federal laws, including gambling regulations in Brazil.
• Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with legal standards and company policies.
• Act as the primary point of contact for regulatory authorities and oversee any regulatory inspections, audits, and investigations.
• Develop and deliver compliance training to employees across all departments, ensuring that all teams understand and adhere to compliance guidelines.
• Review and advise on contracts, marketing materials, and promotions to ensure they meet legal and regulatory requirements.
• Investigate and manage any potential compliance breaches or misconduct, implementing corrective actions when necessary.
• Ensure all consumer protection and responsible gaming practices are being met, including the protection of vulnerable players.
• Prepare and submit regular compliance reports to senior management and relevant authorities.
Requirements
• Law degree from a recognized institution; admission to the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB) is required.
• 4+ years of experience in a compliance or regulatory role, preferably in the iGaming, financial services, or e-commerce sectors.
• Deep understanding of Brazilian gambling laws, data protection laws (LGPD), anti-money laundering (AML) regulations, and consumer protection laws.
• Experience in managing audits, regulatory filings, and liaising with regulatory bodies.
• Strong communication skills in Portuguese, with fluency in English being a plus.
• Ability to work independently, take ownership of compliance issues, and provide strategic advice to senior management.
• Detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced and changing regulatory environment.
